Program Description:
This program is intended to provide our attendees an opportunity to meet Cancer Survivors and hear their perspective of Clinical Trials and how it affected them and the families. Discussions including medical, personal and intimate details to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of clinical research and how a researchers dedication, ethical and empathetic professionalism affects the process as well as the outcome.
Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to:
Recognize characteristics of the most prevalent Melanomas.
Describe different oncology treatment options offered, most common toxicities and comprehend subjects needs and perspectives while participating in clinical trials.
Develop and/or Present clinical trial options to prospective subjects and family members for better understanding of how clinical trials are a healthcare option while eliminating stigma.
Contact hours:
2.0 contact hours applied for through ACRP. Contact hours are complimentary for Chapter Members, $15 for ACRP members and $30 for nonmembers. Membership not required for online registration of contact hours. To receive contact hours: Purchase contact hours on the NY Metro Chapter website, sign in at registration desk, and attend program. Log on to the ACRP website then “ACRP Learning Portal” to complete evaluation no later than 30 days following event and obtain online certificate.
