This will be a Presentation by: Patti Grant, RN, BSN, MS, CIC, FAPICDirector: Infection Prevention & Quality, Methodist Hospital for Surgery, Addison, TXThis session is designed to inform participants about the role of the Infection Preventionist in healthcare, augmented with an example of applied research with the organism MRSA in the NICU environment.
Upon Completion of this session, participants should be able to:
- Restate the history and role of the Infection Preventionist in healthcare
- Summarize the prevalence and impact of MRSA within healthcare
- Decide if MRSA management in a NICU setting was successful based on research application from peripheral published research
