Event Description:
This event will discuss the importance of diversity in clinical trials and its impact on advancing health equity. There will be an exploration of strategies to promote inclusivity and collaboration within the medical research community to ensure better representation and access to innovative treatments for all patients. The participant will gain an understanding of strategies and potential solutions for increasing diversity in clinical trials.
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify barriers to clinical trial participation among underrepresented communities.
2. Assess the impact of lack of representation on access to effective medical intervention.
3. Explore the potential benefits of including underrepresented diverse communities in clinical trials.
4. Formulate recommendations to enhance diversity and representation in clinical trials to improve healthcare equity and cost-effectiveness.
