Program Description:

In recent years, it has become clear that clinical research participation is more accessible to some populations relative to others. The proposed talk will provide the audience with an overview of inequities and barriers for clinical trial recruitment in neurology. The presentation will describe current research in recruitment and inclusion science, including a testable framework for future research, as well as what investigators and study teams can do to minimize barriers to research recruitment.

Objectives:

  • Reframe the history of recruitment science and connection to diversity

  • Discuss early data on quantifying engagement and recruitment to research

  • Provide a few suggestions to bolster recruitment
