Event Description:
Building on the 2024 overview of a multi-state initiative to promote multicultural engagement in clinical research, this presentation highlights key findings and lessons learned from the project's implementation. Attendees will learn how partnerships with community representatives and FQHCs informed focus groups and surveys conducted with community members, health workers, and safety-net primary care providers. The results of these efforts will be shared, providing valuable insights to improve representation in clinical research and to foster innovative solutions to this challenge. The session will also showcase the development and pilot testing of an advocacy-oriented clinical research curriculum for CHWs in North Carolina and Texas. Collectively, these findings demonstrate practical, community-driven strategies to build trust, relevance, and participation in clinical research among diverse populations.
