Speaker #1 Learning Objectives:
  1. Understand what medical decision-making capacity is
  2. Discuss conceptual framework for assessing decisional capacity
  3. Recognize strengths and limitations of capacity tests/measures
  4. Describe how to optimize capacity
  5. Know when and how to refer to a formal capacity evaluation
Speaker #2 Learning Objectives
  1. Learners will understand the ethical imperatives involved in conducting human subjects research in a public health emergency
  2. Learners will be given a broad overview of the different approaches to providing ethical oversight in a public health emergency in the United States
  3. Learners will come away with a sense of the challenges, but importance, of research ethics in the midst of public health emergencies
