Event Description:
Join us for a focused and insightful session on enhancing diversity in clinical research, with a comprehensive review of the evolution of FDA guidance on Diversity Action Plans (DAPs) and strategic considerations for 2025. This session will examine systemic barriers and key facilitators affecting clinical research participation among underrepresented populations, engage participants in actionable strategies to enhance inclusivity, and provide practical tools for developing culturally competent and impactful Diversity Action Plans.

  • Identify and discuss 10 common barriers and facilitators to clinical research participation for underrepresented populations.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Review FDA Guidance: By the end of the session, participants will be able to evaluate and summarize FDA guidance on Diversity Action Plans (DAPs) from 2022 to the present, applying insights to their research contexts.
  2. Identify Barriers and Facilitators: Participants will identify and discuss 10 common barriers and facilitators influencing clinical research participation for underrepresented populations, supported by case studies and current data.
  3. Develop Best Practices: Participants will collaboratively outline 10 evidence-based best practices tailored to increasing clinical research participation among the most underrepresented populations in North Carolina, creating actionable strategies aligned with local needs.
