Event Description:
The Bond Health CEO Rishabh Goel and CIO Sammy Mustafa will speak about the evolution of clinical trial patient recruitment and their experience using EHRs to accelerate, broaden and streamline the clinical trial patient recruitment process.

Rishabh Goel is the co-founder and CEO of Bond Health. He is completing his Masters in Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School and has a background in biomedical data science, machine learning, and healthcare entrepreneurship. He played a key role in securing a $1 million BARDA grant for AI-powered patient stratification for Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). Across his ventures, he has raised over $10 million in funding, including support from prominent investors such as PlugnPlay and Kleiner Perkins’ Scout Fund. His work focuses on translating AI into practical, site-facing solutions that improve recruitment workflows and expand patient access to trials.
 
Sammy Mustafa is the co-founder and CIO of Bond Health. Sammy completed his Master’s degree in Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School. He worked as a Biotechnology Regulatory Fellow through the National Academies where he supports the FDA in developing emerging biotechnology policy. He was an AI researcher at Mass General Hospital for 3+ years, and has a deep expertise in working with real-world clinical data. He is also a Regeneron Science Talent Scholar (Regeneron STS). 
 
Learning Objectives:
  1. Identify the key operational and workflow barriers that contribute to patient recruitment delays and under-enrollment at clinical research sites.
  2. Describe how AI can support clinical trial recruitment through EHR screening, patient pre-screening and scheduling, and informed consent workflows.
  3. Evaluate practical strategies for integrating AI-enabled recruitment tools into site operations to improve efficiency, reduce manual burden, and expand patient access to trials.
