Event Description:
The Human Trial, is a personal and emotional film about patients and researchers who risk everything to be the first to use a radical new stem cell treatment in the hopes of finding a cure for type 1 diabetes. Hear from two professionals speak from their experiences with diabetes and clinical research.
This interactive program will start with the film screening (access available 72 hours in advance). This will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A lead by our panelists.
Learning Objectives:
- Gain an understanding of the lengthy and slow scientific process involved in finding a cure for type 1 diabetes.
- See how one group of researchers focuses on using a novel treatment as a potential cure for diabetes.
- Share in the experiences; both elations and disappointments of clinical trial participants that showcases the important roles they play in clinical research.
