Can anyone suggest to me where I should start?

After 5 years in hospital pharmacy followed by 25 years in retail pharmacy, I have decided to pursue a new career in clinical studies.  Can anyone suggest to me how to get started?  I joined the ACRP just a few weeks ago and understand that I need to either be hired by a company willing to put me through the training or start training myself.  I also wonder about job potential in the Concord, NH area.  My email is virgingerfield@gmail.com if someone would rather offer their honest thoughts directly to me.  Thanks very much.

While I cannot comment on the employment opportunities in Concord, but I can provide some insight on where to start. If you can find a company that will train you upon your employment, on the job learning works best for Clinical Research or so I have found.

ACRP is definately a good resource as well.

I would definately recommend getting a copy of "The Clinical Research Coordinator Handbook" by  Deborrah Norris. When I first started in resarch, my clinical director gave me a copy. It is not necessarily an all inclusive solution or a training course, but it does help answer a lot of basic questions and help pave the understanding of how research is different from other areas of study.

I hope this helps.
