How to use the ACRP Online Community effectively

The new ACRP Online Community has several tools to help you both network and keep up to speed on developments in clinical research.

To get started, we recommend that you first build your profile. By building your profile you are allowing others to search for you either by name or by shared interests. You are also ensuring that your signature line and information about you that is affiliated with your contributions to this community is accurate and up-to-date.

Once you are satisfied with your profile, you can start building your community by adding 'contacts' to your account. While you can keep your contacts list strictly to those that you personally know, you'll find that your network starts to blossom when you begin making contacts with new people with shared professional interests and specialties. You have full control over your profile too, so if you add a contact that doesn't align with your professional needs then you have the ability to remove them from your contacts list at any time. Also, you have the ability to share as much, or as little, information about yourself on your profile as you'd like so no-one will have access to your email or phone number unless you personally make it available to them on your profile.

Lastly, we encourage you to start the flow of knowledge by initiating a question or topic via the eForums, adding a document to the Resource Library, or contributing to the Wiki Glossary. Through these vehicles you'll have access to thousands of other members that share an interest in specific topic areas or clinical research in general.

We hope you enjoy these new tools and remember, the ACRP Online Community is only as good as the contributions YOU make to it. So don't wait for someone else to ask, answer or add information....it's your opinions and input that's needed!
