Program Description: Stakeholders involved in clinical research and translational medicine are vulnerable to unique liability risks. Industry trends such as globalization, development of new partnerships, and new research involving complex study products have steadily increased risk exposures. Sponsors, CROs, academic/healthcare institutions, Institutional Review Boards/Research Ethics Committees and clinical investigation sites are all susceptible to liability risks. Unfortunately, little public information is available to help stakeholder groups understand and manage litigation risks and many stakeholders have limited knowledge of litigation risks. This webinar will explore a life science liability insurance carrier's experience with identifying U.S. and international litigation risk trends and possible risk treatment strategies that may help reduce loss exposure from claims.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe current research liability loss exposures;
- Identify business practices that place an organization at risk for liability litigation; and
- Summarize strategies that can help to reduce clinical research liability exposures.
