Clinical Research Education Event

AWARE for All is an educational program, free and open to the public for the purpose of providing information to help people make informed decisions about clinical research participation. Through AWARE for All, we have a unique opportunity to build greater awareness and understanding of the clinical research process and the important role participation plays in advancing medical science. Through our studies of public and patient perceptions regarding clinical research participation, we've found that more focus and attention is required to address underlying concerns and implement target outreach, education, and new patient initiatives.

Upon completion of this event, attendees should be able to:
  • Consider how the awareness building through grassroots efforts for the AWARE program compares to traditional outreach and advocacy strategies
  • Analyze the impact of a grass-root movement that engaged political figures, opinion leaders, physicians, healthcare providers and other stakeholders
  • Learn how to put a face on the research and health provider communities via an AWARE program
  • Understand how to change perception of the clinical research participant from that of a “guinea pig” to that of a hero via the Medical Heroes Appreciation ceremony and the AWARE program
Who Will Benefit from this Event: Patient communities, medical professionals, patient advocates, and members of the general public from all different backgrounds of clinical research awareness and knowledge-base.
