Program Description: Dr. Doehle is a clinical stage developmental scientist who has been with Gilead Sciences since 2012. He has provided support for the development of Gilead's Hep C Virus (HCV) portfolio leading to the successful registration of compounds for the treatment of HCV infection. From its initial cloning in 1989, treatment of HCV has moved on a rapid timeline leading to the highly curative treatments in the clinic today. Discussion will include the major milestones in basic and translational HCV research that has transformed HCV treatment and offered a cure to this debilitating disease.

Upon completion of this event, attendees should be able to:
  • Recognize and define the key biologic breakthroughs leading to today's highly efficacious HCV treatments
  • Trace the rapid timeline of HCV therapy development
  • Identify key aspects differentiating treatment outcomes in HCV compared with HIV
